Celebrating Our Newest Authors

As we head into fall, I’m excited to share 3 new books from our community!

Please join me in celebrating our newest authors!

Please help me spread the word about these amazing new books — order copies, share on your social media, and tell your friends about these books!

First up is badass Cindy Carillo, Nxt Coach and founder of The Immersion!

With so many of us rethinking career and work-life balance post-Covid, this book is going to be a game changer for many. It’s packed with wisdom and guidance (plus fun stories) to get you moving in the direction you want to go.

Finding Your Nxt: When You’re Ready for the Life You Really Want by Cindy Carillo

“Cindy Carrillo not only demonstrates the success she invites, but reveals how tangible, even permissible, your dreams for the future are right now. Whether you’re on the verge of big changes or of “what could be,” Finding Your Nxt is a practical, entertaining, experience‑driven, and no‑bullshit gift of wisdom worth rereading again and again.”
—JASON CORMIER, CEO & best-selling author of Transformative Digital Marketing

When Cindy Carrillo was selling her company and someone asked what she was going to do next, she would jokingly respond, “I want to find a beautiful piece of land where I can spend my days looking out at a gorgeous view of the mountains, from a comfortable rocking chair on a covered deck, wearing a really big hat.”

If she had only known how serious that “joke” really was. Her life was about to change forever—and for the better. It was time for her to find something more. It was time for her to step into her Nxt.

Change can be scary and personal transformation isn’t a joke, but it does require a sense of humor, and a careful and intentional approach, in order to achieve clarity on embracing the life you really want.

In Finding Your Nxt, Cindy Carrillo outlines how she coaches clients from where they are now into the Nxt big dream of their lives using her adventures of going from a CEO whose clients were Fortune 100 companies to a “ranch girl” capable of birthing baby goats in her lap.

And even if baby goats aren’t your thing, the lessons she learned along the way certainly will be. Want to know how to embrace your Nxt audacious life dream? Reading Finding Your Nxt is the place to begin.

Next up is Beth Erlander, Grief Coach and Counselor, a true badass if I ever saw one!

Beth just launched Life Upside Down  this past week, so let’s give her a little extra love, shall we? She’s written a fierce and powerful book and I can’t wait to hear about its journey of success into the world!

Life Upside Down: The Fall That Transformed Our Lives, Lifting Me Through Grief, Love and Quadriplegia by Beth Erlander

How to Come Up From the Depths of Grief, Loss or Life Transition

Beth’s life changed in an instant after her partner crashed on his mountain bike and broke his neck. The story begins when Michael doesn’t return home for dinner while riding a Colorado trail. Search and Rescue found him and transported him to the nearest hospital. With severe spinal cord injuries, he is left paralyzed from the neck down. Beth must navigate the complex world of quadriplegia while coming to grips with the new role she has been thrust into, from partner to caregiver.

She’s dropped into a crevice of deep grief and finds herself in an unexpected apprenticeship with sorrow. She clings to her life mantra of many years—love what is. A state of surrender easy to convey, but so hard to practice. Because how do you love quadriplegia and how do you befriend grief?

Life Upside Down traverses uncategorized grief, mired in the confusion of non-death related loss. Michael was still alive but so much of their life had died.

Beth searches for out-of-the-box ways to cope. She finds the Dagara Grief Ritual from West Africa and she also walks part of the Camino de Santiago in France and Spain.

Both face immense physical and emotional challenges, but through it all, they never lose sight of their love for each other and their determination to persevere. In fact, it propels them forward. Her relationship with Michael helps forge this process like a river carves rock.

Beth shares the ups and downs of her journey with raw honesty and irreverent humor. You will laugh and cry and may do both at the same time. In the end, you will be inspired to continue living your own life with more tools to keep your heart open while being broken open.

In the pages of Life Upside Down you will find:

  • Gems of advice for grief whether you are in it or know someone who is
    Inspiration to keep grief moving
  • Out-of-the-box tools to befriend grief
  • Nature as a resource
  • Grief Ritual with Sobonfu Somé from the Dagara tribe of West Africa
  • Walking as prayer — Beth walks 110 miles of the Camino de Santiago to grok her losses
  • How important it is to find your grief friends
  • How to be with someone going through deep grief
  • What to not do or say with someone who’s grieving
  • Why do we fawn in grief and what to do instead
  • How to be with anger
  • The reality of quadriplegia through the lens of the caregiver/partner of someone with spinal cord injury

Life Upside Down is a must-read for anyone facing a major loss or life transition. It’s a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit and the boundless capacity of the human heart to love and to heal. This book will help you come right side up again.

This is a story of hope, of overcoming adversity, and of the power of love to heal even the most profound wounds. Ultimately, it’s about the medicine grief has for us if we open to it.

And for today’s final badass, let me introduce you to Meg Gibbs, Somatic Spiritual Guide & Certified Coach. Meg’s memoir is a spiritual journey of growth blended with meditations and exercises to support you on your own journey — talk about fierce!

Spiritually Parented: A Foot in Both Worlds by Meg Gibbs

Spiritually Parented: A Foot in Both Worlds weaves together stories, gifts, and lessons learned from growing up in a household with a devoted sacred practice. This mother-daughter story is rooted in love, authenticity, and the intricacies of studying a shamanic path as a family. There are guided meditations, exercises, and invitations to explore your own spirituality, along with what it was like growing up as an intuitively gifted child in a world that doesn’t always understand.

If you like Glennon Doyle’s wisdom, Nora McInerny’s sass, and Aisling Bea’s wit, you’ll love Spiritually Parented.
