I see too many writers give up after getting a few rejection letters. They start their book with passion, inspiration and deep commitment, only to be shut down when some stranger sends them a form rejection letter saying their book isn’t good enough. (Yuck!) From there, most writers take one of two paths forward: They give up. Their once-beloved book goes on the back burner, where it sits for years. They push forward, no matter what. What happens to the folks who give up on their dream, and let go of the book that their soul insisted they write? Well, I believe they lose a bit of their oomph. Want to Write a Book But Don’t Know Where to Start?

I can’t tell you how many people tell me they want to write a book. But they don’t know how, don’t have time and/or don’t know where to start. Without a plan, it’s easy to keep putting it off. I get it! Writing a book can be a big project, absolutely. But it can also be incredibly rewarding. The trick is breaking it down into manageable pieces. Some folks think it’s something they can just sit down and do. (As if it’s a matter of will power.) It’s not. Like anything else, writing a book entails getting crystal clear on your project first, before you start writing. Otherwise, you’ll end up wasting tons of time and money, not to mention energy. Making it Sustainable

What does your heart want for 2018? My heart wants space, time, freedom, travel and play. Plus two new books I want to write. And a couple of exciting ideas for growing my business. Can you tell I’m an idea person? I have a zillion projects I’d love to do if I could pull them all off! One of my fantasies is having a team at the ready, waiting and able to help bring my many visions into the world. Until then, it’s just me (and a wonderful virtual assistant I recently hired for a few hours here and there to help me unravel technology.)
